BANANA

CHOPPING WOOD IN COLD WEATHER
approximately three minutes of musical attention dwelt upon a real (and happening nearby at that very moment) winter activity. dropped this one in Vermont in January 2011
THAT THING
a failed attempt at a one-minute channel of a large, antique-looking round metal plate-like object hanging under glass on the wall of a friend's home. failed because we went over a minute despite the use of a minute timer. Jen says "That thing is too long ..." ie its implicit musical self is too big to have its essence caught in such a small frame of time. But you'll get the idea

most recent in a series of breath-based improvisations. these tend to go on for a while, and this is no exception. beginning of this piece is time to spark the bubbler, dim the lights, zone out on the lava lamp, go quantum leapfrogging from star to star on the back of a sleepy neutrino
